Maries Georges Jean Méliès was born in Paris in 1861.

14.1: Jessica Kennedy PD: 3 - I thought the clips from "Hugo" were very interesting and different. I thought it was cool the kind of camera they used. I love art, and I thought it was amazing the amount of are it took, and how cool this video might have been for people in the 1900's. These clips showed how different it was for video production then it is today.

The first video was my favorite. It was about a farmer that starts his farm all by himself, and it's a home run farm. He starts to use machines and factories, but then realizes that it's wrong and goes back to what it used to be. The music helps this clip because it's a country song, and the clip is about a farmer. It also helps because the farmer goes back to what he used to be, and that's what the song is about.
The other video is a music video, and it's a man singing about going back to the start while doing everything backwards, until we see why he wants to go back; his girlfriend fell out of a car and died, and he goes back to before she died. The music helps this because he's going back in time, and that is what the video is about. It also adds drama and wonder.

The lyrics meant a lot to me. It talks about going back to the start and how you have regrets in life. It means, to me, that you should live life to the fullest, because every moment is special.

I just think that the video was very moving because the guy at the start ( end of the story) was just laying on a mattress all lost and no will to live. And it really shows that he cared for his girl that he just lost. It really was sad to see how his life fell apart. Also the lyrics really fit to the video.
I thought that the video was neat and very well produced. I liked how they used the special effect of making everything go backwards, especially the glass coming back together. What I think is meaningful is that he wants to go backwards. Guilt is very common and something everyone wants to fix. Many people would love to go back in time so they could avoid a problem. 13.3 Jessica Kennedy PD: 3 - The video "The Scientist" by Coldplay was a very well thought out video. I really enjoyed how powerful the message was, how it a story being told backwards. I thought it was very effective to use the car crash as the main cause for the sequence of events. The song was perfect for the mood of the video. The song talks about starting over, generally working backwards, and with the video working backwards, it was very powerful. The songs tempo is also slow which creates a sadness effect, and this story is involved around the car crash.

I think that Fiona's Amazing Story was really moving and meaningful. It is moving because it is about a small, scared dog who gets rescued. She has many health issues, but she gets help and is adopted. It is meaningful because to was about an organization that helps dogs. When I saw this video it was pretty sad on what happened to that cute dog. He was so jacked up. I been he was 100 % blind had the worst case of fleas, was all dirty. Summary:
-Never over cop your eggs because the egg whites and yolk will be very rubbery and chalky.
Critique:
-It liked how they separated all the steps into different parts and actually said step 1 and step 2. It showed what would happen if you didn't do it the correct way and the right way. I also liked how it had music all the way through the video clip, it wasn't soft that you couldn't hear it, but it wasn't blasting so you didn't understand what she constructor was saying.
-The constructor was very loud and clear and want monotone, which a good thing. i also liked how it had a really cool and interesting fun fact at the end.

- In the video, they teach you how to do the basic step known as "kaholo". I think anybody who watches this video will be able to keep up and learn how to do this step. I also noticed that they also tell you about some Hawaiian history like "mele" is song in the Hawaiian language.
It explains the steps and the things you have to do to make a perfect peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
The clip was a little boring cause the voice was always the same and didn't really have a good ending. But the steps were clear and and straight up so overall was pretty good.

Summary: This video gives you the step by step process to braiding hair. It shows you first how to braid someone else's hair, and then it continues on to showing the steps of how you braid your own hair. The video uses dialog and a complete step by step process of what to do.
Evaluation: This topic was not so much presented in an interesting way, but it was very helpful and it gave you a very precise step by step process. The instructions were very clear for both showing you how to braid another persons hair, as well as teaching you how to braid your own. In the view the narrator (person saying the steps) gave specific instructions to braiding someones hair, like the step of using your middle finger to grab a certain section of hair. 11.1 Harley Jarvis period 2 week 11 todays assignment.
To make a grilled cheese sandwich you must always buy the right materials to make it. Such as any kind of cheese that you love to eat and the right kind of bread that you love to eat. There are many ways you can make them, you can put extra cheese on it or extra bread on it. People sometimes make a double stacker of grilled cheese sandwiches. The main key of always baking it right is too put it in the stove for a good 5 minutes so the cheese can be just hot enough to eat. Some people put the grilled cheese sandwiches in the microwave, but that doesn't make them good to eat at all because the bread gets soggy to eat after it comes out. I recommend if anybody makes a grilled cheese sandwich that they should do it the right way, not the wrong way. You need to make sure that the bread is crispy when it comes out so it has that great taste to it. There are many ways you can make a grilled cheese sandwich to be yours like the guy on the video that put spicy mustard on his sandwich. The clips is a tutorial that teaches a very interesting technique of nail art using newspaper ink and nail polish.
The video is very informative, she teaches every step of the new technique. She uses the Close Up Shot and after a while the video gets really boring because she does not appear at any time and she keeps using the same tone of voice the whole clip. To make it better she should've be part of the video clip showing her face, showing expressions, changing her tone and interacting with the audience.

In my life, when i experienced a new beginning was probably when I moved from my hometown Mililani, Oahu to the Big Island. I had to cope with the stress of moving, as well as going to a new school and not knowing anyone besides my family. I learned that even though you might be nervous of something new, you should still make the best of it.

- I choose this picture of a sunrise because with each new day is a opportunity for someone to start fresh. The first time I traveled outside of the country, i was eleven. When flying to australia, you skip a day due to the international date line. And on the way back, i left sunday afternoon and got there sunday morning. Summary:
This commercial follows a young child that uses the "force" (like from StarWars) to advertise a Volkswagen vehicle. The child uses the force on different random objects and then ultimately tries to use it on the car. In the end, the child is fooled into believing the force is what activated the Volkswagen.
Evalution:
This commercial was a great advertisement idea because the child that was used in the commercial kept you watching due to the fact their cute. This was an overall well filmed commercial. all the different elements that were used worked well, and the one variable that did not change, the force, was very appealing to the audience.

He didn't really remember what happened. As he grew older the doctors said that they needed to do something about it. Ben was really scared. Around 2007 thats when his heart gave him problems. Later he had a surgery. As the years went on he eventually died.

- My opinion about this clip is that its really hard to live your life when you havesomething thats wrong with yourself or your daily life. A word or phrase that represents Kealakehe is "Chee-hoo" because our school has such spirit. Not only does just about everyone in our school represent our school and love it, but i'm sure plenty of people would absolutely get into fist fights over simply standing for kealakehe. Everyone in our school has school spirit and you can often find people shouting "Chee-hoo" all the time. It's an extremely common phrase to hear around our school and when people say it. they say it with such meaning and feeling. That is the word that I picked to represent Kealakehe high school.

Full of "drama". i'll use me as an example, i'm friends with almost all the guys in this school and i talk to at least 3/4th of them. but some of their girlfriends don't like me talking to them and i don't get it because were just friends and they just get all pissy and think his cheating on them with me. or everyone thinks that I'm going out with this one person and they think that it changes very week, which it doesn't because I'm not like that. I have chose this song because we are like fireworks, that have different personalities that can explode. This would be a good choice because it is very upbeat and exciting song. I think the song "Good life" by Kanye west would be a perfect song for Kealakehe because it captures how wonderful the school, and the looks of the class rooms. I would suggest making some sort of distinction between the dog portion of the commercial and the bar part because you can't really tell that there's a difference, since there is no sort of transition. In the Celtx script for the dog strikes back commercial there is a sad dog who is unable to squeeze through a door and realizes hat he is fat and lame. So he decides to fix himself up and becomes super awesome fit dog. Doing this the go represents the new folks wagon for being better and more reliable. After the commercial end it moves into the star wars cantina turning into the big game for star wars characters where Darth Vader misses the Vader kid.
Kawailehua Deuz-Haleamau: We chose the sun drop commercial. It begins with a guy opening the sun drop, takes a sip and starts to drop it low. Then its trying to get buyers to buy the drink and make people more interested in the drink. Then at the end the guys meets up with the sun drop girl and then they start to drop it down together.
I chose to do the M&M commercial. In this commercial it features the brown M&M at a party. This particular M&M is very sophisticated and takes things very seriously. A person attending the party starts to laugh at her because she looks as if she's naked because her "outer shell" is the same color as the chocolate inside. She exclaims that only "a fool would show up to a party naked". The next scene shows the red M&M arriving at the same party and he strips his outer shell because he thinks it is one of those movies. I think that the one that involved the dog getting out of the house and losing weight to go see the car was a lot more effective advertisement wise. It sends this underlying unconscious message that says that to drive that car and what not. you should or have to be in good physical condition so they can drive the car. It also sends this unconscious message that says that people would be prepared when the new car model get's released which is not necessarily the case.
Harley Jarvis: I think that the dog should of ran after that volts wagon to lose all of that weight.

The Volkswagen commercial with the Darth Vader kid stood out to me. It was an effective advertisement because it was funny, adorable, and it displayed their product well. The kid going around failing at his attempts to use the "force" was cute and you feel kind of bad for him. Then, when his dad returns home, the kid seems to have successfully used the force when the car reacts due to the dad pressing the controller. In a sense, the commercial implied that VW helped him achieve his goal to successfully use the "force". Comment- I agree that it really was cute the way that he thought he was a super hero. 6.1My favorite Volkswagen commercial is the one with the dog. The commercial is about the dog being obese and he finally decides he wants to get in shape. So he exercises and he finally gets in enough shape to chase the Volkswagen car. At the end of this commercial, their is a surprise ending. It takes place in an alien bar and one of the aliens joke on how he likes that commercial better than the one with the dark verdure kid. Then the dark verdure chokes him and the alien apologized. I really enjoyed the clips we saw today. Sound editing really intrigues me in general and I have loved these types of videos since I've first found one. I used to actually be a huge fan of "MysteryGuitarMan". I've been wanting to make a video like that for so long but i've always felt as if i've never had enough equipment or time or just the programs in general. I know I can do it regardless because I have the okay software for it, but the only problem is that it would take to long. I love sound editing a lot. I hope that I get to do a video like that. I think that when I go home today, i'm going to try to make my own video like that. I don't know why, but i've been bored at home lately and it just seems likes a fun thing to do. I thought that the unusual editing and video mash-ups were really cool. You could tell that it took a lot of effort and it also took a long time. I liked the guitar one because it sounded like he was just strumming it. I also like the beat boxing one because you could tell that took a lot of shots to make the noise. It was also kind of corky and funny and he put some personality into it. The movie one seems like it took a long time to find all those movie clips to make the song, which I know would take a lot of time.

Brian Breedlove made a video that most likely "spoke" to many people of all ages. His story, as tragic and heart wrenching as it was, gave me a sense of perseverance and hope. Perseverance to become the best person i can be, by treating others with respect, being there for anyone in need, and also keeping myself healthy in my mind and body. His video also gave me hope. Hope that maybe there is something more to life, something greater.
Julia Cole Pd.4 Todays clip made me have a feeling that I never felt before. I felt blissful, inspired, peaceful… I had a feeling that I could never describe with words. That boy had such an inspiring story. He made people believe that there is an after life that is extremely peaceful. He made me not afraid of dying. I used to be afraid to die, but he made it seem that its okay and there is nothing to worry about.

One the video was finished i had to take a couple deep breaths because it was really deep. this i going to sound really strange but when he said that he was in a white room with nothing but white walls, i had been in a place just like that. i think it was when i was 6 or 7 i had surgery on my head and i can remember waking up in a white room with no one to talk to just sitting there alone thinking. then when i woke up all i felt was the last staple they put in my head. so i know how he feels when he said that he has had many near death experiences because I've been through it to and its not fun, its really scary but relaxing at that same time. its sad that he died because he was fighting it for a while and it's sad to see/hear that someone that has been fighting for that long died. even though there wasn't any dialogue, i could see and feel that emotions that he expressed when he was showing the cards. it was a really heavy, deep and touching story.
Kawailehua Deuz-Haleamau; What I found meaningful about Ben Breedlove's clip was his notes speaking to the camera it was very touching because knowing someone who can't talk is not easy as we think it is. but it isn't. It was very sad because he knew he was going to die because he had to go back to the hospital because this heart wasn't working right, so he had to go through surgery again. The 3rd time he went he said he was in a place where it was only white, that part touched me because he knew it was his time soon and he could picture everything. It's very sad knowing that your going to die because knowing all your family is by yourself and they don't even know when your going to go because they don't want you to go. But when the time comes then you, its very touching just watching his clip.
Kienan Pasco Period 2- He was a really tough kid. What made it sad was that he couldn't speak so he had to use index cards. That really captured the audience. He cheated death twice and is given another chance at life. What was also meaningful was that he saw a bright light and he was at peace and he was going to go somewhere where he wouldnt have to suffer and be at peace. It really saddened me when I found out he passed away. He is truly inspiring.

1.)This picture best represents beauty and strength to me because horses are the strength/ beauty of nature. They rome the plains and play together. Horses are gentle creatures that care for everything. Their masculine features show off their strength, while their blissfulness shows their beauty.
My favorite image of strength is a picture of Bethany Hamilton. She is a surfer with a lot of inner strength. This is because her life dramatically changed, but she still kept to her dreams. She was a surfer who lost her arm in a shark attack but she did not let it stop her from surfing. Instead, she kept practicing until she could surf with only one arm and became a professional surfer.

Video games can have many beneficial affects on not only adults but also teenagers. All people can use video games as an escape for life and sometimes, that can be extremely helpful. That is why video games can only be beneficial in moderation. If you're playing 5 hours a day and you don't have a job and you only care about the video game, then that's just ridiculous. If you like to play to relieve stress or just to relax, then in moderation that's completely okay. Some other way's it's beneficial is that video games in teenagers affect certain parts of the brain that don't usually get activated on a daily basis. It can also just be a good way to practice strategy or to just learn things in general. I'll be honest, I would've never wanted to learn how to read if I was never taunted by my Pokémon™. It was a huge motivation for me as a kid. So it can help become a motivation for children to learn how to read and operate things. Depending on the video game itself, it could contain knowledge that could be somewhat useful in the future.

A time where I didn't manage my impulsivity is when I was in charge of planning our english class camping trip. When we got there I had realized that we were there too late and couldn't check in to the cabins. I was so upset and mad at myself and the person that was in charge of getting the cabins. I didn't control myself and I didn't think, I just acted out in anger. I now look back on it and knew I should of controlled the situation better and acted more calmly.

Recall a personal experience that was related to safety and describe the situation and the outcome. What did you learn from the experience?
Well once when I was exploring the woods outside my house, I took my Gyarados for a walk. And as everyone knows, Gyarados's are extremely strong Pokemon and I didn't bother putting a muzzle and harness on him because it was just him an me in the forest. We were like in the middle of it so I couldn't tell where we were but it was ok because I had a map that was like a GPS and compass too. I could hear some noises and a wild Chikorita appeared. Normally the Chikorita's in this region were very nice but the ones in this forest were super mean. I guess it had something to do with Team Rocket. Anyway, my Gyarados went over to the Chikorita and used Hyperbeam. I was glad at that point that I didn't put the harness or anything on my Gyarados. but then I heard the Chikorita cry, it wasn't like one of the normal ones that cry, it seemed like it wasn't used to other Pokemon almost. I ran over to pull my Gyarados back but it was os big that I had a lot of trouble doing so. I heard someone yelling at me and they sounded really upset. I turned and faced to where I heard it and there was another Pokemon trainer running over to the Chikorita. I was really confused until he picked hit up and asked it if it was ok. I then realized that the Chikorita wasn't a wild one but I trained one. Unfortunately my Gyarados didn't really care and attacked both the Chikorita AND the trainer! I was so worried so I ran over to Gyarados and kicked him in the tail. Thats how to hurt it so It will stop what it's doing. I put him back in his Pokemon and ran over to help the trainer. I ended up taking him back to my home to take care of his Chikorita, it turns out he was really nice. He forgave me but we never really saw each other again. Now I always take a leash with me when I'm with my Gyarados.

Generally, reckless behavior or behavior that risks your life and safety are not always appropriate but there are some times when it totally can be. One example of a time in which it's acceptable is when someone else's life is in danger and you try to save them. But if someone wants to behave that way and their behavior doesn't affect anyone else in a bad way, then I think that they should be able to do what they want. If they want to go running around their house while fighting with Nerf Swords™, then so be it. Even the constitution says that as long as you don't affect someone in a bad or negative way, you can kind've do what you want. As long as you respect the community and don't disrupt it or bring chaos, then you can pretty much do whatever you want. Regardless of in public or not, someone could act reckless because they want too because they have a freedom of speech. As long as he doesn't act psychotic and disrupt the peace and tranquility in the community/society.

When I go horseback riding, I have to be cautious because I could injury the horse or myself. Usually when you go horseback riding, you are required to wear a helmet for protection if you fall off. I always hold on to the reins and I have to let the horse know that I am in control. Staying away from cliffs and pot holes are a key to not falling off your horse.

I believe there is a time to be reckless and put yourself in a high risk situation. This is when you put yourself in a situation to save someone else. For example, police officers and firefighters do it to keep the rest of the public safe. If there is a house on fire the firefighters put it out so others are not going to lose their homes or their lives. Accidents can always happen. They especially tend to happen when people are using reckless or high-risk behavior.

The commercial i thought was effective was the one with that little boy such as the dark evil. He used his power on a machine and the doll was on the bed. This lady gave a boy a sandwich, and she had an expression like she was irritated. Somewhat i thought this video was sort of funny . After watching the clip of Ben Breedlove's story i thought it was touching because of all the things he said. It made me want too hear a lot more. It was really sad how he was saying that he had this heart condition and when he was younger he never really knew until he started growing up and realizing. He was scared. He'd always have this seizures and he'd pass out. It was sad when he said he was four and the nurses was pushing him through the hall in a wheel chair and he told his mother about this light he was seeing up above which she didn't see. He mentioned he had cheated death several of times. One day he doesn't know if it was a dream or what but he said he was in a white room with no walls, just white all around him. it just kept on going, He was dressed in a really nice suit with his favorite rapper Kidd'Cuddi. He has been through a lot. He stayed strong all the way, even if he knew he was gonna die soon.

I experience I had involving safety would be when I went to Europe. There are a lot of pick picketers especially on the 'Los Rambles' in Spain. That is one of the top spots for people to pick pocket. Its a strip in the middle of Barcelona with lots of restaurants and street vendors. I had to be safe and keep my purse and money close to me and make sure that I keep a good eye of it and make sure its always in front of me.
Write a brief summary: While watching this clip. I realized it wasn't that hard to do new paper nails. First you need rubbing alcohol, then you dip your nails in to in for about 5sec. After that you get a small piece of newspaper and press it firmly onto your nails for about 15sec. Then you peal it off and the ink from the words will be left behind and you should apply a top coat to stop the newspaper ink from rubbing off.

The first video was my favorite. It was about a farmer that starts his farm all by himself, and it's a home run farm. He starts to use machines and factories, but then realizes that it's wrong and goes back to what it used to be. The music helps this clip because it's a country song, and the clip is about a farmer. It also helps because the farmer goes back to what he used to be, and that's what the song is about.
The other video is a music video, and it's a man singing about going back to the start while doing everything backwards, until we see why he wants to go back; his girlfriend fell out of a car and died, and he goes back to before she died. The music helps this because he's going back in time, and that is what the video is about. It also adds drama and wonder.

I just think that the video was very moving because the guy at the start ( end of the story) was just laying on a mattress all lost and no will to live. And it really shows that he cared for his girl that he just lost. It really was sad to see how his life fell apart. Also the lyrics really fit to the video.
I thought that the video was neat and very well produced. I liked how they used the special effect of making everything go backwards, especially the glass coming back together. What I think is meaningful is that he wants to go backwards. Guilt is very common and something everyone wants to fix. Many people would love to go back in time so they could avoid a problem. 13.3 Jessica Kennedy PD: 3 - The video "The Scientist" by Coldplay was a very well thought out video. I really enjoyed how powerful the message was, how it a story being told backwards. I thought it was very effective to use the car crash as the main cause for the sequence of events. The song was perfect for the mood of the video. The song talks about starting over, generally working backwards, and with the video working backwards, it was very powerful. The songs tempo is also slow which creates a sadness effect, and this story is involved around the car crash.

I think that Fiona's Amazing Story was really moving and meaningful. It is moving because it is about a small, scared dog who gets rescued. She has many health issues, but she gets help and is adopted. It is meaningful because to was about an organization that helps dogs. Summary:
-Never over cop your eggs because the egg whites and yolk will be very rubbery and chalky.
Critique:
-It liked how they separated all the steps into different parts and actually said step 1 and step 2. It showed what would happen if you didn't do it the correct way and the right way. I also liked how it had music all the way through the video clip, it wasn't soft that you couldn't hear it, but it wasn't blasting so you didn't understand what she constructor was saying.
-The constructor was very loud and clear and want monotone, which a good thing. i also liked how it had a really cool and interesting fun fact at the end.

Evaluation: This topic was not so much presented in an interesting way, but it was very helpful and it gave you a very precise step by step process. The instructions were very clear for both showing you how to braid another persons hair, as well as teaching you how to braid your own. In the view the narrator (person saying the steps) gave specific instructions to braiding someones hair, like the step of using your middle finger to grab a certain section of hair. This also showed the end product of what they were trying to achieve.

There are many ways you can make them, you can put extra cheese on it or extra bread on it. People sometimes make a double stacker of grilled cheese sandwiches. The main key of always baking it right is too put it in the stove for a good 5 minutes so the cheese can be just hot enough to eat. Some people put the grilled cheese sandwiches in the microwave, but that doesn't make them good to eat at all because the bread gets soggy to eat after it comes out. I recommend if anybody makes a grilled cheese sandwich that they should do it the right way, not the wrong way. You need to make sure that the bread is crispy when it comes out so it has that great taste to it. There are many ways you can make a grilled cheese sandwich to be yours like the guy on the video that put spicy mustard on his sandwich. I want my grilled cheese sandwiches to aways be delicious so that i can make more better things after i mastered the perfect grilled cheese sandwich.

The clips is a tutorial that teaches a very interesting technique of nail art using newspaper ink and nail polish.
The video is very informative, she teaches every step of the new technique. She uses the Close Up Shot and after a while the video gets really boring because she does not appear at any time and she keeps using the same tone of voice the whole clip. To make it better she should've be part of the video clip showing her face, showing expressions, changing her tone and interacting with the audience.

When flying to australia, you skip a day due to the international date line. And on the way back, i left sunday afternoon and got there sunday morning. I remember watching the sun rise over the first sight of north america. After that trip to Australia I felt more confident, more mature, and more adventurous. Summary:
This commercial follows a young child that uses the "force" (like from StarWars) to advertise a Volkswagen vehicle. The child uses the force on different random objects and then ultimately tries to use it on the car. In the end, the child is fooled into believing the force is what activated the Volkswagen.
This commercial was a great advertisement idea because the child that was used in the commercial kept you watching due to the fact their cute. This was an overall well filmed commercial. all the different elements that were used worked well, and the one variable that did not change, the force, was very appealing to the audience.

7:4 : 2/17/12 Spencer Stefaney:A word or phrase that represents Kealakehe is "Chee-hoo" because our school has such spirit. Not only does just about everyone in our school represent our school and love it, but i'm sure plenty of people would absolutely get into fist fights over simply standing for kealakehe. Everyone in our school has school spirit and you can often find people shouting "Chee-hoo" all the time. It's an extremely common phrase to hear around our school and when people say it. they say it with such meaning and feeling. That is the word that I picked to represent Kealakehe high school.

I have chose this song because we are like fireworks, that have different personalities that can explode. This would be a good choice because it is very upbeat and exciting song. I think the song "Good life" by Kanye west would be a perfect song for Kealakehe because it captures how wonderful the school, and the looks of the class rooms. I think this song would look really good when we make the slide show because it shows all the great things about Kealakehe. I would suggest making some sort of distinction between the dog portion of the commercial and the bar part because you can't really tell that there's a difference, since there is no sort of transition. You could put something like "At the end of the commercial, we see Star Wars people in a bar..." or something like that to specify that it's a different setting.

In the Celtx script for the dog strikes back commercial there is a sad dog who is unable to squeeze through a door and realizes hat he is fat and lame. So he decides to fix himself up and becomes super awesome fit dog. Doing this the go represents the new folks wagon for being better and more reliable. After the commercial end it moves into the star wars cantina turning into the big game for star wars characters where Darth Vader misses the Vader kid.

We chose the sun drop commercial. It begins with a guy opening the sun drop, takes a sip and starts to drop it low. Then its trying to get buyers to buy the drink and make people more interested in the drink. Then at the end the guys meets up with the sun drop girl and then they start to drop it down together.
I chose to do the M&M commercial. In this commercial it features the brown M&M at a party. This particular M&M is very sophisticated and takes things very seriously. A person attending the party starts to laugh at her because she looks as if she's naked because her "outer shell" is the same color as the chocolate inside. She exclaims that only "a fool would show up to a party naked". The next scene shows the red M&M arriving at the same party and he strips his outer shell because he thinks it is one of those movies. 6.1: 2/6/12 Spencer Stefaney:I think that the one that involved the dog getting out of the house and losing weight to go see the car was a lot more effective advertisement wise. It sends this underlying unconscious message that says that to drive that car and what not. you should or have to be in good physical condition so they can drive the car. It also sends this unconscious message that says that people would be prepared when the new car model get's released which is not necessarily the case.

The Volkswagen commercial with the Darth Vader kid stood out to me. It was an effective advertisement because it was funny, adorable, and it displayed their product well. The kid going around failing at his attempts to use the "force" was cute and you feel kind of bad for him. Then, when his dad returns home, the kid seems to have successfully used the force when the car reacts due to the dad pressing the controller. In a sense, the commercial implied that VW helped him achieve his goal to successfully use the "force".
Comment- I agree that it really was cute the way that he thought he was a super hero. It was smart of VW to imply that the car really did allow him to achieve his goal of using the "force". Good job. Riley pd. 1

6.1My favorite Volkswagen commercial is the one with the dog. The commercial is about the dog being obese and he finally decides he wants to get in shape. So he exercises and he finally gets in enough shape to chase the Volkswagen car. At the end of this commercial, their is a surprise ending. It takes place in an alien bar and one of the aliens joke on how he likes that commercial better than the one with the dark verdure kid. Then the dark verdure chokes him and the alien apologized.

"The dog strikes back-2012 Volkswagen Game Day Commercial" was about a dog who was really fat. He looks at his self in the mirror and is very unsatisfied. He then starts to work out and the show seems of him running up and down the stairs, running on the tread mill, and swimming in the pool. At the end of the commercial he is running down the street and trying to catch the volkswagen car driving down the road. This was an effective video because it caught people's interest and it was also very funny.

I really enjoyed the clips we saw today. Sound editing really intrigues me in general and I have loved these types of videos since I've first found one. I used to actually be a huge fan of "MysteryGuitarMan". I've been wanting to make a video like that for so long but i've always felt as if i've never had enough equipment or time or just the programs in general. I know I can do it regardless because I have the okay software for it, but the only problem is that it would take to long. I love sound editing a lot. I hope that I get to do a video like that. I think that when I go home today, i'm going to try to make my own video like that. I don't know why, but i've been bored at home lately and it just seems likes a fun thing to do. I think that these video's are extremely cool.

My favorite TV commercial is one for Tim Horton's doughnuts in Canada. It was about two families on a road trip. The father say that if they get lost to go to the nearest Tim Hortons. While driving they claim they can not see each other, even though they are two cars apart, and say to stick to the plan by going to Tim Hortons. My favorite TV commercial was a State Farm commercial. This commercial was quite hilarious as it scened some guys and and how calm one was when a baseball came smashing through his window. I thought that the unusual editing and video mash-ups were really cool. You could tell that it took a lot of effort and it also took a long time. I liked the guitar one because it sounded like he was just strumming it. I also like the beat boxing one because you could tell that took a lot of shots to make the noise. It was also kind of corky and funny and he put some personality into it. The movie one seems like it took a long time to find all those movie clips to make the song, which I know would take a lot of time.

Brian Breedlove made a video that most likely "spoke" to many people of all ages. His story, as tragic and heart wrenching as it was, gave me a sense of perseverance and hope. Perseverance to become the best person i can be, by treating others with respect, being there for anyone in need, and also keeping myself healthy in my mind and body. His video also gave me hope. Hope that maybe there is something more to life, something greater.

Todays clip made me have a feeling that I never felt before. I felt blissful, inspired, peaceful… I had a feeling that I could never describe with words. That boy had such an inspiring story. He made people believe that there is an after life that is extremely peaceful. He made me not afraid of dying. I used to be afraid to die, but he made it seem that its okay and there is nothing to worry about.

I felt pretty amazed of how he cheated death three times and lived and had encounters with angels and god. Hopefully we all get an encounter with him like that when we die.

One the video was finished i had to take a couple deep breaths because it was really deep. this i going to sound really strange but when he said that he was in a white room with nothing but white walls, i had been in a place just like that. i think it was when i was 6 or 7 i had surgery on my head and i can remember waking up in a white room with no one to talk to just sitting there alone thinking. then when i woke up all i felt was the last staple they put in my head. so i know how he feels when he said that he has had many near death experiences because I've been through it to and its not fun, its really scary but relaxing at that same time. its sad that he died because he was fighting it for a while and it's sad to see/hear that someone that has been fighting for that long died. even though there wasn't any dialogue, i could see and feel that emotions that he expressed when he was showing the cards. it was a really heavy, deep and touching story.

What I found meaningful about Ben Breedlove's clip was his notes speaking to the camera it was very touching because knowing someone who can't talk is not easy as we think it is. but it isn't. It was very sad because he knew he was going to die because he had to go back to the hospital because this heart wasn't working right, so he had to go through surgery again. The 3rd time he went he said he was in a place where it was only white, that part touched me because he knew it was his time soon and he could picture everything. It's very sad knowing that your going to die because knowing all your family is by yourself and they don't even know when your going to go because they don't want you to go. But when the time comes then you, its very touching just watching his clip.
Kienan Pasco Period 2- He was a really tough kid. What made it sad was that he couldn't speak so he had to use index cards. That really captured the audience. He cheated death twice and is given another chance at life. What was also meaningful was that he saw a bright light and he was at peace and he was going to go somewhere where he wouldnt have to suffer and be at peace. It really saddened me when I found out he passed away. He is truly inspiring.

1.)This picture best represents beauty and strength to me because horses are the strength/ beauty of nature. They rome the plains and play together. Horses are gentle creatures that care for everything. Their masculine features show off their strength, while their blissfulness shows their beauty.
My favorite image of strength is a picture of Bethany Hamilton. She is a surfer with a lot of inner strength. This is because her life dramatically changed, but she still kept to her dreams. She was a surfer who lost her arm in a shark attack but she did not let it stop her from surfing. Instead, she kept practicing until she could surf with only one arm and became a professional surfer.

Video games can have many beneficial affects on not only adults but also teenagers. All people can use video games as an escape for life and sometimes, that can be extremely helpful. That is why video games can only be beneficial in moderation. If you're playing 5 hours a day and you don't have a job and you only care about the video game, then that's just ridiculous. If you like to play to relieve stress or just to relax, then in moderation that's completely okay. Some other way's it's beneficial is that video games in teenagers affect certain parts of the brain that don't usually get activated on a daily basis. It can also just be a good way to practice strategy or to just learn things in general. I'll be honest, I would've never wanted to learn how to read if I was never taunted by my Pokémon™. It was a huge motivation for me as a kid. So it can help become a motivation for children to learn how to read and operate things. Depending on the video game itself, it could contain knowledge that could be somewhat useful in the future.

A time where I didn't manage my impulsivity is when I was in charge of planning our english class camping trip. When we got there I had realized that we were there too late and couldn't check in to the cabins. I was so upset and mad at myself and the person that was in charge of getting the cabins. I didn't control myself and I didn't think, I just acted out in anger. I now look back on it and knew I should of controlled the situation better and acted more calmly.

Week 2 Writing Log: (Write a paragraph of 4 to 5 complete sentences).
Recall a personal experience that was related to safety and describe the situation and the outcome. What did you learn from the experience?
Well once when I was exploring the woods outside my house, I took my Gyarados for a walk. And as everyone knows, Gyarados's are extremely strong Pokemon and I didn't bother putting a muzzle and harness on him because it was just him an me in the forest. We were like in the middle of it so I couldn't tell where we were but it was ok because I had a map that was like a GPS and compass too. I could hear some noises and a wild Chikorita appeared. Normally the Chikorita's in this region were very nice but the ones in this forest were super mean. I guess it had something to do with Team Rocket. Anyway, my Gyarados went over to the Chikorita and used Hyperbeam. I was glad at that point that I didn't put the harness or anything on my Gyarados. but then I heard the Chikorita cry, it wasn't like one of the normal ones that cry, it seemed like it wasn't used to other Pokemon almost. I ran over to pull my Gyarados back but it was os big that I had a lot of trouble doing so. I heard someone yelling at me and they sounded really upset. I turned and faced to where I heard it and there was another Pokemon trainer running over to the Chikorita. I was really confused until he picked hit up and asked it if it was ok. I then realized that the Chikorita wasn't a wild one but I trained one. Unfortunately my Gyarados didn't really care and attacked both the Chikorita AND the trainer! I was so worried so I ran over to Gyarados and kicked him in the tail. Thats how to hurt it so It will stop what it's doing. I put him back in his Pokemon and ran over to help the trainer. I ended up taking him back to my home to take care of his Chikorita, it turns out he was really nice. He forgave me but we never really saw each other again. Now I always take a leash with me when I'm with my Gyarados.

Generally, reckless behavior or behavior that risks your life and safety are not always appropriate but there are some times when it totally can be. One example of a time in which it's acceptable is when someone else's life is in danger and you try to save them. But if someone wants to behave that way and their behavior doesn't affect anyone else in a bad way, then I think that they should be able to do what they want. If they want to go running around their house while fighting with Nerf Swords™, then so be it. Even the constitution says that as long as you don't affect someone in a bad or negative way, you can kind've do what you want. As long as you respect the community and don't disrupt it or bring chaos, then you can pretty much do whatever you want. Regardless of in public or not, someone could act reckless because they want too because they have a freedom of speech. As long as he doesn't act psychotic and disrupt the peace and tranquility in the community/society.

When I go horseback riding, I have to be cautious because I could injury the horse or myself. Usually when you go horseback riding, you are required to wear a helmet for protection if you fall off. I always hold on to the reins and I have to let the horse know that I am in control. Staying away from cliffs and pot holes are a key to not falling off your horse.

I like the examples you put in with your argument, they are very persuasive. I agree that reckless behavior can be appropriate if you or another is in danger, and if your actions don't hurt yourself nor anyone else. Good job.
I believe there is a time to be reckless and put yourself in a high risk situation. This is when you put yourself in a situation to save someone else. For example, police officers and firefighters do it to keep the rest of the public safe. If there is a house on fire the firefighters put it out so others are not going to lose their homes or their lives. Police officers put themselves in danger to stop a robber or shooter so others are protected. Sarah.per1

There's never an appropriate time for reckless or high-risk behavior. Although some may justify reckless or high-risk behavior by saying it's needed in order to have fun, I don't believe it is necessary. Putting anyone's life in danger at any time is not worth it. Accidents can always happen. They especially tend to happen when people are using reckless or high-risk behavior.

The answer os neither right or wrong. it depends the situation like life or death, then i think it is okay for reckless behavior. Other than that i don't think you should risk your life just to impress someone or you think your cool. For me i always try to take the safe route, because i don't want to hurt the people i love its not worth it.

People who know that the outcome will be positive, Its fine. Unless it's made to create annoyance or there is a high risk of something bad happening it's not appropriate most of the time. Only have that behavior unless necessary or you know everything will work out in the end.

After watching the clip of Ben Breedlove's story i thought it was touching because of all the things he said. It made me want too hear a lot more. It was really sad how he was saying that he had this heart condition and when he was younger he never really knew until he started growing up and realizing. He was scared. He'd always have this seizures and he'd pass out. It was sad when he said he was four and the nurses was pushing him through the hall in a wheel chair and he told his mother about this light he was seeing up above which she didn't see. He mentioned he had cheated death several of times. One day he doesn't know if it was a dream or what but he said he was in a white room with no walls, just white all around him. it just kept on going, He was dressed in a really nice suit with his favorite rapper Kidd'Cuddi. He has been through a lot. He stayed strong all the way, even if he knew he was gonna die soon.

I experience I had involving safety would be when I went to Europe. There are a lot of pick picketers especially on the 'Los Rambles' in Spain. That is one of the top spots for people to pick pocket. Its a strip in the middle of Barcelona with lots of restaurants and street vendors. I had to be safe and keep my purse and money close to me and make sure that I keep a good eye of it and make sure its always in front of me.
